Detroit's Orchestra Hall
The Max M. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts

Orchestra Hall was constructed in 1919, in a record four months and 23 days, in order to accommodate the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's newly appointed second Music Director, famed Russian pianist Ossip Gabrilowitsch. Gabrilowitsch accepted the position on the condition that the DSO build a suitable, permanent home of its own. Previously, the Orchestra performed at the old Detroit Opera House.

A fully restored and modernized Orchestra Hall debuted with the grand opening of the Max M. Fisher Music Center on October 11, 2003

Local 38 is proud of our longtime relationship with Orchestra Hall and the DSO.
