As winter rolls in, things always pick up work-wise around Detroit.

This year is no different - besides the annual Thanksgiving Parade, Ford Motor Company was making news. Most of our theatres
are running at full-tilt, and setup for the North American
International Auto Show is underway!
We Love A Parade!
America's Thanksgiving Parade is telecast annually by Detroit's NBC affiliate, WDIV Channel 4. Our members were on hand two days early to build the location "Living Room" set. The program hosts anchor the show from here, viewing the parade from the large picture window. The outside of the hut looks a little forbidding, but inside, our hosts are warm and cozy in their spacious living room! The set was originally designed about 20 years ago by member Paul Budgen.

This year's parade was broadcast in HDTV. Dexter Sieger coordinated repairs and modifications to the set, to accomodate the new cameras, and other necessary revisions.

A few dozen of our members have been working at Detroit's Cobo Center,
doing advance rigging and staging for the show. Our members provide support for special events
during Media Week at the show.
