In Detroit, public safety concerns took precedence over Friday night's Kiss, Aerosmith and Ted Nugent show at Comerica Park
The concert was canceled at 4:45 a.m. Friday, said Jamaine Dickens, spokesman for Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.

Organizers of the Comerica Park rock concert said they postponed the event after city officials told them it could not be staged this weekend because of the state of emergency.
Crews at Comerica had worked for 24 straight hours hoping that the concert might happen as scheduled, or perhaps a following day.
Workers who had used generators to complete the setup were breaking it down Friday.
These shots are from the cancelled concert. The show was re-scheduled, and went off without a hitch, about a month later.
